Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers within the Mariner Group is seeking an Editorial Intern to draft jackets, read submissions, and participate in meetings across imprints. This role provides exposure to the full book production process and kicks off February 2027, running through April 2027.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program, with strong writing, organization, and a love of books.

Qualifications

• Available to work 21 hours per week across 3–4 days, Feb 8 to Apr 16, 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Resume and cover letter required; address cover letter to Hiring Team.
• Open to rising seniors, recent grads, master’s students, or entry-level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Drafts fact sheets, jacket copy, and reading group guides.
• Reads and evaluates manuscript submissions and rejection letters.
• Attends various team and department meetings as interested.
• Learns the book production process and provides additional assistance as needed.
