Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a hands-on editorial intern in New York City to assist across the Harper Influence group. You will support author relations, manuscript routing, and launch prep while learning from senior editors and assistants.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s program, with a passion for books and strong attention to detail. The internship runs this summer with a fixed schedule and compensation.

Qualifications

• Availability to work in NYC office 28 hours/week from Jun 7–Aug 12, 2027.
• Open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master's students, or early career candidates.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Resume and cover letter required; address to Hiring Team.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of Harper Influence team tasks and publication processes.
• Learn publishing software and assist in author communications and expense processing.
• Read and evaluate submissions and help prepare submissions for literary awards.
• Contribute to launch preparation for upcoming titles.
• Attend meetings and build relationships with editors and staff.
