Job summary

Univerus is seeking an Editorial Assistant to support the editorial team in developing and delivering content for our print clients. You will write entertainment and TV listings content, process photos for publications, and assist with weekly sports coverage and feature writing.

Reporting to the Features Editor, you will help with content packaging, photo selection, and international content expansion, while ensuring adherence to editorial standards and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of editorial or publishing experience preferred (internships considered).
• Practical experience with Photoshop required; familiarity with InDesign or other publishing software an asset.

Responsibilities

• Write entertainment and TV listings content for print publications.
• Process photos for print publications, including photo cutouts.
• Support weekly photo selection and contribute to sports and feature writing during absences.
• Assist with packaging content in the Features Editor's absence.
• Support expansion into international content as the role develops.
• Edit and proofread content to meet style guides and editorial standards.
