Valnet is seeking a remote, 1099 Freelance Entertainment Features Writer to help cover major movies, TV shows, and streaming platforms for its network of brands, including Pocket-lint, MakeUseOf, Android Police, XDA, and How-To Geek.

You will pitch and write original features, manage images, and input content into our CMS while staying ahead of trends and coordinating with editorial teams across brands. Strong English writing, SEO, and CMS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and editing entertainment features in English.
• Ability to pitch original feature concepts and write engaging content.
• Deep knowledge of the streaming landscape (Netflix, Max, Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV+) and major media franchises.
• SEO practices for feature writing and experience using a web-based CMS.
• Self-starter with a passion for staying ahead of entertainment trends.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and write original features, watchlists, rankings, plot explainers, and deep-dive analyses on major movies, TV shows, and streaming platforms.
• Pitch unique, reader-obsessed feature topics regularly.
• Input work into our in-house CMS and format images per guidelines.
• Stay ahead of upcoming release slates, streaming ecosystem updates, and pop-culture trends.
• Coordinate with editorial teams across brands for assignments, feedback, and content optimization.
• Follow Editorial Guidelines while producing unique and high-quality feature content.
