Springer Nature Ltd invites applications for Associate or Senior Editor on the Nature Communications Human Behaviour team. The role is hybrid with locations in Shanghai, Pune or New York, offering an opportunity to shape open-access multidisciplinary publishing at a leading science publisher.

The successful candidate will edit high-impact manuscripts, engage with researchers worldwide, and help implement the journal’s strategy in the Health and Clinical sciences division.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in political science, economics, or a closely related field.
• Editorial experience is valuable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Handle original research manuscripts, evaluating quality, novelty and suitability for publication.
• Drive editorial excellence by ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely publication.
• Collaborate with authors and reviewers to ensure a rigorous and transparent review process.
• Represent the journal within the scientific community and engage with researchers and experts.
• Contribute to editorial policies, peer-review practices and publishing processes to uphold integrity and impact.
• Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
• Partner with the Chief Editor to execute development strategy and identify growth opportunities.
• Develop content by attracting high-quality submissions, commissioning reviews and special collections.
• Contribute to showcasing published research and knowledge exchange across the Nature Portfolio.
