Job description

Provides support for Global EDI implementations and ensures that electronic data interchange and interface systems operate properly, meet user needs, and support business requirements. Responsibilities include translating business needs into technical specifications, creating test cases, performing data performance testing, and supporting daily EDI operations, including troubleshooting technical issues with transactions. Also provides global production support, investigates, and resolves issues. Leads projects within functional areas and assists on other projects as directed by the IS Manager. Requires in-depth knowledge of EDI, communication protocols (AS2, VAN, (S)FTP, HTTP(S)), and a solid understanding of business practices. Develops and executes detailed project plans.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily global EDI operations, including support, administration, control, scheduling, and balancing of EDI documents.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the EDI framework, including system interfaces, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze project requirements and assist in developing functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with VAN, AS2, (S)FTP, HTTP(S) partners to implement enhancements and monitor document transmissions.
  • Apply and update AS2 and SSL certificates.
  • Create detailed design and mapping specifications for translation between SAP, external applications, and EDI formats.
  • Lead customer projects to digitize processes and maximize EDI capabilities, such as automating order generation to reduce manual EDI orders.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with key business users.
  • Work with SAP analysts to resolve issues and design new business processes.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and external consultants on projects.
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks as per the IS Manager's directives.
  • Develop and update system documentation and training materials according to IS standards.
  • Train new and existing users of EDI systems.
  • Build, test, and maintain system interfaces, including SAP, BI, and eCommerce systems.
  • Develop procedures for system recovery and disaster management.
  • Coordinate with IS Operations to ensure successful system transfers and upgrades.

Compliance

Adhere to policies and processes aligned with NIST CSF and Hallmark standards for maintenance, security, monitoring, and recovery, including asset, change, incident, problem, vulnerability, patch management, data security, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in EDI systems and interfaces.
  • Experience with Seeburger implementation, configuration, setup, and BIC Mapping Designer (prem/cloud).
  • SAP experience for supporting and configuring EDI partners and tables.
  • Knowledge of S/4HANA and EDI interfaces is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills focused on issue resolution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of standard business practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in team and matrix environments.
  • Knowledge of process/data modeling and data architecture development.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with vendors and internal partners.
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and occasionally walk, handle objects, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision and focus adjustment.
