Job summary
ByteDance's Edge Traffic Scheduling team seeks experienced engineers to design and build a scalable traffic management system for its global edge platform. You will work on DNS-based routing, ensure PoP stability, and optimize performance across multiple regions.
The role involves analyzing routing performance, troubleshooting, and supporting both internal and external services over public internet topology.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or bachelor's with 3+ years in a related field.
- Experience with DNS service.
- Networking protocols knowledge: BGP, IP, TCP, UDP.
- Experience with networking tools: ping, mtr, traceroute.
- Experience with networking metrics: SNMP, sFlow/NetFlow.
- Experience with IPDB.
- Knowledge of HTTP, HTTPS, QUIC.
- 3+ years experience in Go or scripting (Shell, Python).
- Experience with Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a control system that directs traffic following performance-based or cost-based routing strategies
- Global TikTok users routing layer performance analysis and troubleshooting
- ByteDance internal and external services support on public internet topology and connectivity
