Job summary

Amazon CloudFront is seeking an engineer to design and build real-time distributed systems that route traffic across hundreds of edge locations worldwide. You will own data pipelines for load measurement, latency collection, and routing signals from design through production.

You will collaborate with networking, capacity planning, and DNS teams to improve customer outcomes while contributing to on-call rotations and mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience on large systems.
• 1+ years of software engineering or related experience.
• Experience with large-scale distributed software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build real-time distributed systems to route traffic across edge locations.
• Own end-to-end data pipelines: load measurement, latency collection, routing signals.
• Write design documents, lead technical reviews, and drive architectural decisions.
• Investigate routing anomalies by tracing decisions through system layers to root cause.
• Collaborate with networking, capacity planning, and DNS teams to improve outcomes.
• Drive operational excellence: monitoring, alerting, automation, and runbooks.
• Participate in on-call rotations and mentor engineers through code reviews and guidance.
