Job summary

ByteDance’s Global Engineering CDN team seeks engineers to join a highly available, cost-efficient, multi-cloud CDN platform. You will work across self-built and commercial CDN vendors to optimize delivery, performance, and cost at scale.

The role involves developing core platform capabilities, global traffic management, and collaboration across distributed systems. Applicants should be recent graduates ready to tackle bold challenges and grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS or related field (completed or close to completion).
• Proficiency in at least one language: Go, Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Solid foundation in data structures, operating systems, computer networks, and databases.
• Basic understanding of Internet technologies: HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, caching, traffic routing, or Linux.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and interest in large-scale traffic systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and optimization of the global Multi-Cloud CDN scheduling platform.
• Build traffic optimization mechanisms across self-built CDN infrastructure and commercial CDN vendors to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to cost optimization projects for self-built CDN and multi-cloud CDN traffic.
• Build and improve metrics, monitoring, and analysis tools for resource consumption, origin traffic, bandwidth usage, cache efficiency, service quality, and cost optimization.
• Participate in traffic analysis, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of scheduling stability and traffic efficiency.
