Job summary

Intramotev is seeking a Wireless Communications & Controls Engineer in St. Louis, MO to co-own the wireless architecture connecting tablet controllers, edge servers, and self-propelled railcars.

This embedded, field‑deployed RF role focuses on real‑time control links, protocol design, and robust interface definitions across moving platforms. The role requires 3+ years in wireless systems, proficiency in C/C++ and Python, and hands-on field testing experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering/computer field.
• 3+ years designing wireless or RF communication systems.
• Hands-on experience deploying wireless links for moving equipment under real RF conditions.

Responsibilities

• Co-own the architecture of wireless communication layers for railcar control and site infrastructure.
• Select, integrate, and validate RF hardware, radios, and antennas for reliable mobile links.
• Develop and integrate communication software in C/C++ and Python across embedded targets and edge servers.
• Test and validate systems on operating railcars, drive fielded issues to root cause, provide lifecycle support.
• Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and software teams on interface architecture and design reviews.
• Evaluate LTE/5G, C-V2X, and private LTE/5G to improve link reliability.
