Job summary

Sift is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead the Edge Systems squad, building Sift Edge in Rust and supporting desktop client libraries. You will expand ingestion capabilities for extreme environments and future C2 directions, reporting to the VP of Engineering.

You will manage a team of engineers, drive technical strategy with product partners, and own delivery quality while shaping open-source contributions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in people management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
• Strong experience building high-performance, low-latency systems in Rust.
• Experience with real-time data acquisition and durable local storage.
• Proven ability to guide teams through ambiguity and scale engineering talent.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of high-performing engineers.
• Define the technical roadmap with Product and GTM teams for Sift Edge and libraries.
• Ensure high-velocity delivery while meeting performance and reliability in extreme environments.
• Establish and refine engineering processes, agile rituals, and AI acceleration techniques.
• Contribute architecturally across the Edge server, desktop client, and libraries.
