Job summary

Sift, a data infrastructure platform for hardware teams, is hiring an Software Engineering Manager to lead the Edge Systems squad in Marina Del Rey, CA. The role emphasizes building Sift Edge in Rust, with local data ingestion and offline operation as core capabilities.

You will mentor engineers, shape the technical roadmap with Product and GTM, and ensure high-velocity delivery while meeting strict performance and reliability benchmarks in extreme environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in people management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related field.
• Strong Rust experience; working knowledge of Go or Python.
• Experience with real-time data acquisition, high-throughput ingestion and durable local storage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of high-performing engineers.
• Collaborate with Product and GTM to define the technical roadmap.
• Ensure high-velocity delivery with performance and reliability.
• Establish engineering processes and agile rituals.
• Contribute hands-on across Sift Edge server, desktop client and libraries.
