Job summary

Queue in the Bay Area is building edge software for our prescription robot. This hands-on lead role owns the edge software end-to-end, from design and code to release and field behavior, and you mentor engineers by pairing and coaching.

You will collaborate across firmware, vision, cloud and image teams, define contracts at boundaries, and ensure safe fail-closed operation. This is a technical leadership role without people management.

Qualifications

• Production C, C++ or Rust on Linux software ownership from design to field faults.
• Hardware integration over CAN, RS-485, and USB with on-wire debugging.
• Real-time sequencing with safe failure paths and state machines design.
• MCU boundary literacy and versioned device protocols such as protobuf/CAN.
• Embedded Linux: services, startup, updates and image ownership.
• Field robotics telemetry, remote diagnostics and recoveries.

Responsibilities

• Own edge software design and code end-to-end.
• Define and version contracts with microcontrollers and vision service.
• Lead releases, testing, field reporting, and remote diagnosis.
• Own seams between edge software, firmware, vision, cloud and image.
• Set review standards, mentor engineers, and drive technical decisions.
