Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimize edge security controls protecting web apps, APIs, and internet-facing services. You’ll work with security, network, and application teams to strengthen the enterprise perimeter and respond to threats.

The role includes on-call rotation roughly every six weeks and occasional after-hours support for incidents. Strong experience with Akamai and Imperva is required, plus CI/CD security integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise web application, API, or edge security.
• 3+ years hands-on with Akamai security technologies or comparable edge security platforms.
• 3+ years knowledge of WAF, bot management, DDoS mitigation, API security, DNS/TCP/IP security.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Akamai security technologies, including WAF, Bot Manager Premier, Adaptive Security Engine, Client Reputation, Account Protector, DDoS protections.
• Administer Imperva Website Security capabilities and origin integrations.
• Design and maintain security controls protecting web applications, APIs, and internet-facing services.
• Configure and tune WAF protections, rate limiting, IP/geographic controls, ACLs, API protections, and custom rules.
• Investigate and mitigate DDoS attacks, credential stuffing, account takeover, scraping, and other threats.
• Monitor security telemetry and respond to incidents; perform root-cause analysis and actions.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate security into CI/CD and documentation.
