Job summary

Citi in Irving, TX is seeking a Perimeter Security Build Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize security at the network edge. You will implement firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and ensure seamless integration with existing network infrastructure.

The role requires 4+ years in network security and a strong background in security infrastructure development. A hybrid work arrangement is available with on-site collaboration and occasional after-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years in network security focusing on security infrastructure development and implementation.
• 2+ years’ experience with Check Point, Palo Alto Networks, and Cisco.
• Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and firewall management.
• Basic understanding of automation scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Ansible) is desirable.
• Understanding of Cloud Security is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, CCNA, Check Point Certified Admin, PCNSA) are desirable.
• Excellent technical skills with focus on security infrastructure and problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks; strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy perimeter security solutions, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Implement security measures safeguarding the organization's network periphery.
• Ensure new security solutions are integrated into the existing network architecture.
• Document build processes, configurations, and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with network architects and IT teams to align security measures with overall network strategy.
• Work with internal teams and security vendors; communicate project statuses to stakeholders.
