Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners is seeking a Software Engineer in Irving, TX for a 12-month hybrid contract with a prominent financial services company. The role focuses on building and securing network infrastructures and leading firewall migration efforts.

You will collaborate with network, cloud, and application teams to enforce security controls, review policies, and monitor incidents while maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in network security engineering.
• 2+ years configuring, managing, and troubleshooting firewalls and security management systems across Palo Alto Networks.
• 2+ years of security policy design, rulebase optimization, and hardening of multi-vendor firewall environments to meet standards.
• 2+ years of experience in Panorama – template stacks, device groups, policy hierarchy, logging, reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures.
• Lead firewall migration projects using Expedition, FortiConverter, SmartMove, and other vendor tools.
• Build and deploy new network security infrastructures, including greenfield implementations.
• Perform security policy reviews, rulebase optimization, and threat prevention tuning.
• Troubleshoot complex network security issues across multi-vendor environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into enterprise architecture.
• Maintain accurate documentation including network diagrams and standards.
• Monitor and respond to security events and incidents; engage in root cause analysis.
• Participate in rotational on-call schedule for after-hours support.
• Stay current with emerging threats and technologies to improve security posture.
