Amazon’s Internet Edge Engineering team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to build scalable network software for AWS. You will create high‑performing packet processing engines and collaborate with software and network experts to deliver robust solutions for customers worldwide.

The role emphasizes agile problem-solving, data-driven decision making, and growth within a diverse, inclusive tech culture across AWS networks.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture of new and existing systems.
1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered software applications using C#, C++, Java or Perl.
1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
Experience with at least one software language.

Responsibilities

Develop software systems and deliver them to customers, esp. software-based packet processing engines.
Apply data-path optimization, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving to implement features.
Follow best practices across coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, test, and operations.
Communicate with technical teams and management to collect requirements and describe designs.
