Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join the EDGE team. You will deploy and scale network infrastructure across AWS datacenters and contribute to automated tooling and standards, enabling fast, reliable rollouts for services like Retail, Kindle, and AWS offerings.

The role involves working with a diverse team of engineers, travel to data centers, and supporting off-hours operations. Experience with IP routing, Linux, and scripting is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• Strong knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and protocols.
• Experience with major internet routing protocols (BGP/OSPF).
• Experience with Cisco IOS and Junos network OS.
• Experience in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Scripting experience in Perl, shell, C or C++ is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deploy network infrastructure across all network fabrics for multiple AWS services.
• Deploy, scale and automate networks across global datacenters.
• Drive scaling of current network designs to meet demand.
• Create simple, repetitive deployment processes for velocity and quality.
• Collaborate with internal customers to bring designs from concept to production.
• Update network standards and ensure deployments follow them.
• Implement changes on the network and work with automation teams to scale.
