Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Network Development Engineer II for the Edge team in Austin, TX. You will design scalable, resilient edge network architecture and lead initiatives to improve capacity, availability, and security using SD-WAN and cloud networking technologies.

You will work autonomously on major portions of edge network implementation, collaborate with software/ops/engineering teams, and mentor peers while leveraging automation to improve efficiency and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience.
• 4+ years experience in a network focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments.
• 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network and/or networking systems.
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and deliver technical solutions that improve the availability of our network technologies.
• Partner with peer teams to grasp customer problems and find technological solutions using wired networking technologies.
• Define and meter the availability of existing and future network solutions to meet customer needs.
• Identify and deliver solutions that reduce operational impact and enable scalable, resilient services.
• Dive Deep on complex problems to identify root causes and deliver corrective actions.
• Innovate and automate infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and lifecycle management.
