Job summary

Tractable Limited seeks an Embedded Systems Engineer in Salt Lake City to develop the device-side software and firmware for our drive-through scanner project. You will own camera and sensor control, data capture synchronization, and measurement capabilities, taking features from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded engineering experience.
• Production-grade C/C++ and/or Python with strong fundamentals.
• Embedded Linux experience with system services, logging, and profiling.
• Hands-on hardware and sensor integration using UART/I2C/SPI/GPIO.
• Proficiency with debugging, testing, and version control.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain embedded Linux software and firmware for camera and sensor stack.
• Improve camera control software: triggering, timing, health monitoring, error recovery.
• Improve sensor control software: presence, distance, calibration, fault handling.
• Create signal-processing pipelines and transform sensor data into usable outputs.
• Prototype quickly, then harden for production reliability and deployment.
