Job summary

Fastly is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Containers at the Edge to lead a distributed, high-performing team responsible for architecture, deployment, and management of our edge container infrastructure.

You will build and execute a multi-year technical roadmap, hire software engineers and SREs, and partner with product and engineering leaders to deliver low-latency, secure application delivery across thousands of edge nodes. Strong leadership and hands-on system design are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience managing Software Engineering or SRE teams.
• 10+ years of related technical experience with distributed systems, CDN, or cloud infrastructure.
• Extensive hands-on experience in software development using Go, Rust, or C/C++.
• Demonstrated ability to drive a durable technical roadmap and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Experience building large-scale production infrastructure in complex networking environments.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term strategic vision and multi-year roadmaps for containers at the edge.
• Hire and develop a high-performing team across engineers and SREs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmaps and priorities.
• Communicate strategy, progress, and risk to executives and technical teams.
• Contribute directly with development work and architectural contributions.
