Job summary

Fastly seeks a Senior Engineering Manager for the Containers at the Edge team to architect, deploy, and manage distributed container infrastructure at the edge. You will hire and lead a high-performing engineering team to ensure low latency, high availability, and secure delivery across thousands of nodes.

You will influence the strategic roadmap, collaborate with product and SRE teams, and drive architectural decisions while maintaining strong operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 4+ years managing Software Engineering or SRE teams.
• 10+ years in distributed systems, CDN, or cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on development experience in Go, Rust, or C/C++.
• Ability to drive a durable technical roadmap and collaborate across teams.
• Experience building large-scale production infrastructure in on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term strategic vision and multi-year technical roadmap aligned with Fastly’s business.
• Hire and develop a high-performing team including SWE, principal ICs, and SREs; scale org capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmaps and priorities.
• Communicate strategy, progress, and risk to executives and technical stakeholders.
