Job summary

Cribl is seeking a Software Engineer for the Edge team to develop backend features for data collection across hundreds of edge nodes on multiple platforms. You will design, implement, and maintain data collection agents, collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams, and own the full development lifecycle from design to deployment.

The role requires strong TS/Node.js skills, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science or similar field.
• Strong OS fundamentals, memory management, CPU scheduling, filesystems, networking.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate feature delivery while maintaining quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, clear articulation of complex topics.
• Ownership mindset with high standards of quality and performance.
• Desire to turn ideas into high‑quality software that makes a difference.
• Professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with assertion frameworks and regression tests (e.g., Mocha).
• Prior experience with data-intensive applications or streams processing.
• Experience working remotely across timezones.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data collection agents across Windows, Linux, and Mac.
• Collaborate with UX, PMs, and engineers to translate requirements into high-performance experiences.
• Own the development lifecycle from design to testing and maintenance.
• Develop automated tests and comprehensive test plans for high-quality features.
• Support SaaS products and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations.
