Job summary

HP is seeking a seasoned Competitive Intelligence Lead to own analyses of the AI at the edge landscape, including on-device workloads, NPUs, and component ecosystems. You’ll synthesize signals into concise insights for senior executives and shape HP’s strategic posture.

You will mentor a team of four analysts, drive quarterly earnings benchmarking, and influence strategy decisions through data-driven narratives and scenario planning.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in competitive intelligence, corporate or competitive strategy, equity research, management consulting, or product/market strategy.
• Strong knowledge of AI landscape across software and hardware, on-device/edge AI, NPUs and accelerators.
• Financial fluency: read earnings calls and 10-Qs; understand margins and mix.
• Exceptional communication to distill complexity for senior executives.
• Executive presence with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience leading and developing analysts or associates.

Responsibilities

• Run deep competitor analysis on core and emerging players, covering roadmaps, AI positioning, GTM, partnerships, and pricing changes.
• Lead quarterly earnings analysis and business-performance comparison across the competitive set.
• Maintain a living map of the AI landscape across models, software, devices, and enabling companies.
• Translate findings into risk or opportunity insights for division strategy teams and presidents.
• Model likely competitor and ecosystem responses and advise on pre-emptive HP posture.
• Provide early warning on emerging threats before they become obvious.
• Build AI-augmented tooling and data pipelines for scalable analysis.
• Lead and develop a team of analysts, setting agenda and quality bar.
• Support HP Strategy Projects with research, testing, and presentations.
• Manage a team of 3-4 junior members.
