Job summary

MaineHealth Stephens Hospital Emergency Department is seeking an Emergency Department Technician II for a per diem role. You will assist the healthcare team with stocking, results retrieval, and patient tracking under RN supervision, and perform basic patient care such as vital signs and EKG.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy and other simple procedures, orienting new staff and students, and providing unit-based education. Per diem schedule and comprehensive MaineHealth benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, or CNA certification required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Experience: Six (6)+ months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare team in organizing department activities such as stocking, results retrieval, and patient tracking.
• Under RN guidance, perform patient care: vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, phlebotomy and other basic procedures.
• Orient new team members and students; provide educational offerings in unit.
