Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for the Adult ED. You will work under RN supervision, providing direct clinical and support services in a fast-paced, patient-centered ED environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on patient care, vital signs, hygiene, and coordination with the healthcare team to meet patient and family needs. Evening/night shifts are included.

Qualifications

• BLS CPR certification required or obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic math and computer proficiency expected.
• Completed an approved Emergency Department Technician training or CNA/Patient Care Technician/Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient care interventions for ED patients and families.
• Provide clinical services such as obtaining vital signs, bathing, feeding, dressing wounds, hygiene, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, clean ED environment through environmental and inventory tasks.
• Contribute to efficient ED operations and quality patient/family outcomes.
