Job summary

Sentara Independence is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join the team in Virginia Beach, VA. This FT role includes Weekend Nights (Fri-Sun) from 7pm to 7am, with competitive compensation and benefits.

You will assist physicians and nurses with IV starts, EKGs, POCT, blood cultures, vital signs, triage, and stocking, contributing to efficient patient care in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire or completion of US Military Hospital Corps School or MMAC candidates.
• Current students enrolled in a clinical program (RN, LPN, Respiratory, PT) or someone with prior Sentara ED tech experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Starting IVs.
• EKGs.
• Point of Care testing (POCT).
• Blood cultures collection.
• Vital signs monitoring.
• Arrival prioritization of patients.
• Stocking and restocking supplies.
