Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a skilled patient care support professional to assist physicians and nurses with a range of technical care tasks, including phlebotomy, patient transport, monitoring, and wound care. The role requires appropriate licensure (Nurse Aide, EMT, or Medical Assistant) and BLS certification within 6 months where applicable.

The position emphasizes documentation in the EHR, communication with care teams, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the TM practices., or
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic license issued through national registry or by the state in which the TM practices, or
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Intravenous license issued through national registry or by the state in which the TM practices, or
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Intermediate license issued through national registry or by the state in which the TM practices, or
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Paramedic license issued through national registry or by the state in which the TM practices., or
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providerscertification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Responsabilités

• Assist physicians and nurses with phlebotomy, patient transport, monitors, wound care, Foley catheters.
• Obtain lab specimens and start IVs if allowed by state regulations.
• Document procedures and communicate observations to the nurse.
• Process daily patient charges through the EHR.
• Collaborate with physicians to facilitate patient communications.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace following safety policies.
• Monitor equipment and arrange repairs.
• Assist with patient positioning and lifting using proper technique.
• Provide age-appropriate care and interpret patient needs per department policies.
