Advocate Health Care is seeking a capable Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses through phlebotomy, specimen collection, and patient transport. You will document care in the EHR and communicate observations promptly to the registered nurse, ensuring accurate daily charges and adherence to safety policies.

You will assist with monitoring and basic procedures, perform wound care when needed, and help coordinate communications across care teams.

Competenze

• Basic computer skills and the ability to work with Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and their families.
• Must maintain skill and recertification as required by regulation and organization.

Mansioni

• Assists physicians and nurses in providing technical care by performing phlebotomy, transporting patients, monitoring, wound care, Foley catheter care, and obtaining lab specimens.
• Documents information and communicates observations and needs to the registered nurse.
• Processes daily patient charges and related procedures through the EHR.
• Collaborates with physicians to support communications necessary for patient care, coordinating calls, paging, and EMS communications.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment following safety policies and precautions.
• Monitors equipment and coordinates repairs; performs patient positioning and transport as needed.
• Adheres to age-specific care requirements and department policies for patient care.
