Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join the ED/urgent care team in San Diego. You will assist nurses and physicians, measure vital signs, and perform basic emergency procedures under supervision.

The role requires CA EMT or CNA certification and BLS through the American Heart Association. Preferred candidates have 1 year of healthcare experience and ED exposure.

Qualifications

• State Issued CA EMT or CNA.
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certification through American Heart Association.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in emergency services preferred.

Full-Time | 12-Hour Varied Shift (48 hours per two week pay period)

As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech), you will support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed.

Under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions.

You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection.

You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary.
