Job summary

Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education is required, with CHRC fingerprints on file. Prior classroom experience is preferred but not required; compensation ranges from $21.70 to $32.67 per hour, contingent on education

Biddeford Intermediate School is seeking Education Technicians II to support classroom instruction and manage student behavior. This role requires collaboration with classroom and special education teachers and adherence to school policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom or special education teacher and assist in drill and practice activities.
• Participate in required workshops upon request of Building Leader, Supervisor, or Director.
• Perform non‑instructional, non‑evaluating functions, including suspending students as directed.
• Assist in preparation of instructional materials and provide classroom management during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, etc.
• Alert teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.

Qualification & Credentials

• Certification as an Education Technician from the Maine Department of Education.
• Successful prior classroom experience or working with students with special needs is preferred but not required.
• Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) with fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education.

Compensation

Based on position, education level, experience, and the collective bargaining agreement. Range: $21.70 – $32.67 per hour.
