Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and ability to work with Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and their families.
• Must maintain skill and recertification as required by regulation and organization.
• Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and health care team to access patient information and supports communication facilitating care.
• Coordinates tests and treatments across departments and documents accordingly.
• Facilitates communications via multi-line phones, paging, and hospital systems; screens calls.
• Maintains knowledge of patient information systems; processes daily charges and related procedures.
• Collaborates with physicians to support communications for patient care; coordinates all forms of communication.
• Assists with phlebotomy, patient transport, monitors, wound care, Foley catheters, and lab specimen collection as permitted.
• Documents information and communicates observations to the nurse promptly.
• Monitors office equipment and arranges repairs when needed.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment per safety policies.
