Job summary

Advocate Health in Oshkosh, WI, seeks a capable health care teammate for the Emergency Department night shift. You will assist physicians, coordinate tests, manage communications and handle patient care tasks within hospital systems.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 1 year of experience, and licensure options including Nurse Aide or EMT (various levels) with BLS within 6 months. Benefits eligible, 36 hours/week, 1900–0730 shifts.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and ability to work with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients and families.
• Must maintain skill and recertification as required by regulation and organization.
• Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
• High level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and other health care team members with hospital systems to access patient information and facilitate patient care.
• Coordinates tests and treatments across departments and documents procedures.
• Facilitates communications via multiple channels and hospital information systems; screens calls.
• Uses Patient Information System and other systems for orders, charges, and supply management.
• Collaborates with physicians to support communications and coordinate care.
• Performs phlebotomy, patient transport, monitors, wound care, catheter placement, and lab specimen collection as permitted.
• Documents observations and communicates needs to nursing staff.
• Maintains and troubleshoots department office equipment; arranges major repairs.
• Maintains safe, clean working environment following safety policies.
