Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to respond to medical emergencies, deliver patient care, and evaluate patients in pre-hospital settings, on scene and during transport between locations.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, EMT certification, and BLS; a valid driver’s license is required, with 1+ year EMT/LNA experience preferred. Night shift, onsite work, and competitive pay are included.

Job Summary

Salary Range: $19.47 -$31.09. Pay is based on experience. Summary Responsible for responding to medical emergencies and delivering patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, like on scene and during transport to the hospital. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Essential Functions
  • Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care.
  • Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Document patient information, condition, and treatment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights.
  • Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
  • Operate and drive an ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma
  • Emergency Medical Technician required
Licenses and Credentials
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required
  • Emergency Medical Technician [EMT License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Emergency Medical Technician [NREMT-Basic] - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) preferred
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • NH LNA License
Experience
  • Experience EMT/LNA Experience 1 or more years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in the state of practice.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
