Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician/Licensed Nurse Assistant for night shifts at our onsite Dover, NH location. You will respond to emergencies, provide critical care, and document patient conditions during transport to our facility.

The role requires an EMT license, BLS certification, and a High School diploma or equivalent. Experience with patient handling and ambulance operations is preferred, with a focus on safety and confidentiality.

Job Summary Salary Range: $19.47 -$31.09. Pay is based on experience.

Summary

Responsible for responding to medical emergencies and delivering patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, like on scene and during transport to the hospital. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes

Essential Functions
  • Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care.
  • Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Document patient information, condition, and treatment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights.
  • Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
  • Operate and drive an ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws.
Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Emergency Medical Technician required.

Licenses and Credentials
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required
  • Emergency Medical Technician [EMT License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • Emergency Medical Technician [NREMT-Basic] - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) preferred
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred
  • NH LNA License
Experience

EMT/LNA Experience 1 or more years preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
  • Must possess a valid's driver's license in the state of practice.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful and crisis situations.
