1810 Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Nursing Assistant for night shifts (7pm–7am) to provide basic patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and support clinical staff. The role requires a High School diploma, BLS certification, and LNA credential (NH).

Prior nursing assistant experience is preferred. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with mobility, feeding, and reporting patient changes to the charge nurse.

Job Summary

Per Diem Nights 7pm -7am Salary range: $19.47 -$31.09. Pay is based on experience.

Responsible for providing basic nursing care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, mobility, and toileting. Also responsible for taking vital signs, obtaining specimens, observing and reporting patient information, and providing basic first aid.

Essential Functions
  • Obtains and records vital signs and weights according to policy.
  • Provides hands-on patient/client care.
  • Provides grooming and personal care to patients/clients.
  • Feeds or assists patients with meals and provides additional nourishment and hydration according to the care plan.
  • Collects and bags soiled linen and delivers it to the designated dirty linen area.
  • Assists physicians and/or licensed nurses with treatments and procedures as needed.
  • Provides toileting and incontinence care for patients/clients.
  • Reports changes in the patient's condition, as well as patient/family concerns or complaints, to the charge nurse and/or supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required
  • Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Nursing required
Experience
  • Clinical/Medical Office/Managed Care Experience 1-2 years preferred
  • Nursing Assistant Experience 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledgeable in general nursing assistant practices, personal care and basic medical services.
  • Knowledgeable of patient rights, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to the needs of patients and employees.
  • Understands and is committed to maintaining highest level of confidentiality and adheres to policies on confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
