Job summary

Sentara Independence is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join the team on a part-time basis. The shift is PT (32 hours) from Monday to Thursday, 1 pm to 9 pm.

The ED Tech assists Physicians and Nurses, performs IV starts, EKGs, point of care testing, blood cultures, vital signs, and arrival prioritization. Requirements include HS Diploma or equivalent and EMT-B with state or national certification (or equivalent military hospital corps training) or current clinical program

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR Current students enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy).
• Candidates with prior Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

Sentara provides market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
