Job summary

Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC seeks PRN Registered Nurses to join the Emergency Department. The RN provides professional nursing care, performs triage after documentation, and is responsible for assessing, reassessing, and delegating patient care in a fast paced ED environment.

Required qualifications include graduation from an approved school of professional nursing, NC or compact license, BLS, and ACLS/PALS (as required at first opportunity after hire).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Current and valid NC or compact state Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS and PALS Certification (required at first opportunity after hire)
• Required to demonstrate competence in the performance of duties specific to all age groups and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• May perform triage after documentation of appropriate education.
• Assess, reassess, and delegate patient care in the Emergency Department.

Job Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients while in the Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse may perform Triage after documentation of appropriate education. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, reassessing, and delegation of patients while in the Emergency Department.

Preferred: CEN or CCRN, TNCC

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Current and valid NC or compact state Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS and PALS Certification (required at first opportunity after hire)
• Required to demonstrate competence in the performance of duties specific to all age groups and patients.

Experience:

New graduates that have mentored in CCU or ED will be considered. 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care medical-surgical unit or in a critical care area is preferred.
