Job summary

Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC, is seeking a registered nurse for urgent care in the Emergency Department. You will deliver patient-centered care, perform triage after education, and collaborate with the ED team to support timely treatment.

The role requires NC or compact RN licensure, BLS certification, and ACLS/PALS as soon as possible after hire. Experience in CCU/ED is preferred for the team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.

• Ensure safe, age-appropriate care and coordinate with ED team to optimize throughput.

Provides professional nursing care to patients while in the Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse may perform Triage after documentation of appropriate education. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, reassessing, and delegation of patients while in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Current and valid NC or compact state Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS and PALS Certification (required at first opportunity after hire)
• Required to demonstrate competence in the performance of duties specific to all age groups and patients.

Preferred: CEN or CCRN, TNCC

Experience:

New graduates that have mentored in CCU or ED will be considered. 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care medical-surgical unit or in a critical care area is preferred.
