Job summary

Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN will provide professional nursing care, perform triage when indicated, and support patient assessment and delegation in a busy ED.

Candidates must have an approved nursing degree, an active NC or compact RN license, BLS, and ACLS/PALS. Preferred: CEN or CCRN, TNCC. New grads with CCU/ED mentoring are welcome; 1 year ED or acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Current and valid NC or compact state Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS and PALS Certification (required at first opportunity after hire)
• Preferred: CEN or CCRN, TNCC

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.

Job Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients while in the Emergency Department. The Registered Nurse may perform Triage after documentation of appropriate education. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, reassessing, and delegation of patients while in the Emergency Department.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Current and valid NC or compact state Registered Nurse license to practice professional nursing.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS and PALS Certification (required at first opportunity after hire)
• Required to demonstrate competence in the performance of duties specific to all age groups and patients.

Preferred: CEN or CCRN, TNCC

Experience: New graduates that have mentored in CCU or ED will be considered. 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care medical-surgical unit or in a critical care area is preferred.
