Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Safety Partner for the ED to support a safe environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls and other behaviors. This role covers weekend nights from 7p to 7a and requires strong de-escalation and patient-safety skills.

Qualifications include High School Diploma, BLS within 90 days, healthcare experience or health sciences study, and a background in behavioral health is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
• Experience in healthcare or enrollment in health sciences preferred
• Mental/behavioral health background is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, or self-harm.
• Support de-escalation, restraints, and patient safety throughout the hospital stay.
• Collaborate with ED team to ensure patient care quality and safety.
