Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a Safety Partner to help maintain a safe environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, or self-harm. This on-site role runs weekend days from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with full-time 36 hours weekly.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire, and de-escalation training should be completed within 30 days, with some roles having earlier timelines.

• Must have strong communication and confidentiality skills.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training required or completed within stated timelines.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.
