Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department in Norfolk, VA seeks a Safety Partner to help maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. The role involves monitoring high-risk patients and remaining with those at risk of suicide, falls, wandering or self-harm to support function during the stay.

As an on-site, third-shift position, you will work with a collaborative team in a 53-bed ED known for trauma care. High school diploma and BLS are required, healthcare exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Sit with patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, self-harm, or other risk behaviors.
• Collaborate with the ED team to ensure patient safety during hospital stay.
