Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA seeks a Safety Partner to support a safe ED environment for at-risk patients. This part-time role covers 7a–7p on Mon and Tue, joining a 41-bed Level III Trauma ED with extensive patient care responsibilities.

Ideal candidates bring healthcare exposure and a passion for patient safety, de-escalation, and teamwork within a busy emergency department.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Healthcare experience preferred; MH/behavioral health background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation or self-harm.
• Support safety-focused care and de-escalation in the ED setting.
• Collaborate with ED team to ensure patient safety and adherence to protocols.
