Job summary

Concord Hospital in Virginia is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an inpatient specialty area. The RN 2 will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for a defined patient population, collaborating with the care team to ensure safe, effective care throughout life span.

The role requires completion of an accredited nursing program with BSN preferred and current RN licensure, plus Basic Life Support. One year of clinical nursing experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment and interprets data in order to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
• Develops, evaluates and revises patient’s plan of care and nursing actions in response to patient’s needs.
• Documents care provided and patient’s progress toward attainment of desired outcomes.
• Directs and supervises others in the performance of delegated nursing activities.
• Teaches the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care. Prepares patients to manage their care after discharge, transfer or preparation for procedure/test.
• Administers medications to patients.
• Manages time and resources to deliver patient care.
