Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking a Fulltime Day Shift ED RN to join the Emergency Department team in Stamford, CT. The position operates on three 13‑hour day shifts (7am–8pm) with rotating weekends and holidays, blended with the ED Behavioral Health Unit coverage.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient care per Nursing Process, supervising non‑RN staff, and precepting new staff. A supportive, planetree‑inspired culture emphasizes compassionate, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Valid license as Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut.
• ASN from an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN preferred; will consider candidates with a plan to pursue BSN or BSN in progress.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one-year ED RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the Nursing Process and State/Federal guidelines.
• Provide supervision of non-RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on assigned unit.
• Supervise unit activities when assigned to charge or clinical coordinator role.
• Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested.
• Adhere to Stamford Hospitals policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program.
• Provide safe and therapeutic care using the values inherent in our hospital culture.
