Job summary

Community Hospital Corporation is seeking a Full-Time Patient Access Clerk to register patients for hospital services and pre-admit as needed. You will interview patients, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and explain billing and patient rights while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

The role requires collecting co-pays, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with the Business Office and other departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred candidates with at least 6 months experience in a medical office or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatients for hospital services and pre-admit when needed.
• Obtain authorization and verify insurance eligibility for admissions/outpatient procedures.
• Interview patients or representatives to collect or verify personal and insurance information.
• Explain billing processes and patient rights, provide HIPAA information.
• Collect co-pays and payments; forward receipts to Business Office.
• Maintain knowledge of hospital policies and available services.
• Communicate with patients, families, and other departments professionally.
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies.
