Job summary

Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall seeks an Associate for Health Access Management in the ED Registration unit, located at 70 Dubois Street, Newburgh. This part-time role runs nights (11 PM–7 AM) with a 7.5-hour schedule, focusing on greeting, registering patients, and collecting insurance data.

Responsibilities include accurate recordkeeping, responding to calls and alerts, and assisting patients through the care process in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years; at least one year of medical office experience with frequent customer interaction.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Read, write and communicate in English required.
• Spanish communication is a plus.
• Previous patient registration or patient accounting experience preferred.
• Must complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training bi-annually.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients upon arrival in the ED.
• Collect and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Advise patients on next steps in the care process.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient records per standards.
• Answer calls, page on-call providers, respond to emergencies as needed.
