Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking an ED Registered Nurse for a 13-week onsite contract in Charlotte, NC. This night-shift role covers 12-hour days on a 3-day week schedule, with regional floating to Pineville/CMC facilities as needed.

Providers will support ED operations with BLS/ACLS/PALS and NIHSS credentials, and must be able to travel for regional coverage. Expect a total weekly compensation including base pay and stipends, with CTR bonuses and comprehensive benefits through TalentBurst.

Qualifications

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of ED experience.
• RN licensure and current certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS/NIHSS) are required.
• Strong ED skillset including rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, and sedation.
• Must be able to work night shifts, long hours, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ED nursing care in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage patient flow, administer meds, and monitor critical parameters.
• Collaborate with ED staff and physicians to deliver safe, efficient care.
• Support floating to multiple facilities within Region 2 as required.

About Facility:

• 337 licensed beds
• No Trauma Designation
• Not a Teaching Hospital
• Chest Pain Center
• Stroke Center
• Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Unit Information:

• Beds: 43
• 8 Clinical Decision beds – Behavioral Health (not locked)
• 4 additional on opposite side used for admins from FSED or holding patients
• Average Census: 145 patients on average per day

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years of ED exp

Will you accept a first-time traveler: No

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• General ED Population – Trauma stabilization to ship out, Respiratory illness, Stroke, Behavioral Health, Acute MI, Uncontrollable Diabetes, Minor trauma, etc.
• Ages served – Pediatric to Geriatric
• 25-30% Admission rate

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:3-4, based on acuity
• CNA: will serve as Unit Coordinator and assisting RN with patient cares, ratios varies

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• RN:
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (required)
• TNCC (preferred)

Skills required:

• RN: General ED Skillset to include but not limited to - Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation

Support within the Department:

• HCT/Unit Sec – 1:8-10
• Paramedic
• Charge nurse – free floating
• Patient Safety Attendants
• Pharmacist dedicated to ED – 7a to 11p
• Social Worker
• Scheduler
• RT 24/7
• ED Physicians APP; Geriatric APP
• Hospitalist, 24/7
• Intensivist, 24/7

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Phillips
• Rover Communication; Panda Infant Warmer, LUCAS

Floating:

• Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
• Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, any Freestanding ED within Region, Central Division (CMC Main CMC Mercy Levine Children s Hospital)
• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
