Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the Emergency Department. The role supports clinicians by helping with daily patient needs, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with mobility and activities of daily living in a fast-paced ED setting.

The selected candidate will perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring while maintaining equipment and reporting changes to the RN. A team-oriented, compassionate approach is essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• EMT/CPCT/CNA certifications strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing.
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities.
• Performs post mortem care.
• Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
• Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN.
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Other related duties as assigned.
